Welcome to Library Land!

Portland West Middle School's Media Center is named after a distinguished Sumner County educator named Dorothy Turner.  The library program is designed to support adacemics, research, and pleasure reading needs. This library wouldn't exist without all the awesome students, parents, teachers, and administrators who support it!  Thanks for all you do!!


The mission of the Dorothy Turner Library is to facilitate lifelong learning and the success of all students and teachers at Portland West Middle School by offering a variety of materials, information access, information literacy training, and curriculum support in a customer-friendly environment.


The vision of the Dorothy Turner Library is to prepare students for a lifetime of success by empowering students to be critical thinkers, enthusiastic readers, skillful researchers, and ethical users of information.
